The purpose behind this event was to thank industry professionals for their support in helping make Rodrock communities successful and to introduce Darol Rodrock to new people in the industry. Rodrock specifically honored the hard working co-op agents who benefit their clients as well as fellow agents. His vision is that these alliances will continue to build a strong community where everyone works together to help each other.
Robb Heineman of Sporting KC spoke to the 600 attendees. Heineman said he was excited about his company’s partnership with the Darol Rodrock Foundation. He believes the two organizations have similar values and goals. Heineman is considered one of the most progressive, forward thinking leaders in business and sports today. His track record parallels that of Darol Rodrock.
Darol Rodrock recognized the relation to the growth in the area’s real estate market with the expansion of Cerner and other companies in Kansas City in 2015. For this and other reasons, Rodrock gave a very optimistic forecast for 2015.
To get the excitement cranked up, a ‘Flash Mob’ dressed as waiters and waitresses danced to the hit song, “Happy”. Then “money grab” machines allowed participants to fill their pockets with cash and eventually, festivities ended when a suitcase filled with $8,000 for a dream trip of the winner’s choice was won. In between, many other gifts and prizes were handed out during the 1.5 hour breakfast:
$1,000 to the first 10 real estate agents to visit one of Rodrock’s communities; Top selling agents within the Rodrock communities received $5,000; I-pad; Tickets to the home opener for Sporting KC; Gift certificate to Nell Hills; Numerous gift certificates from Prairiefire, including membership to the Museum; Nordstrom gift card, Visa gift card; Waterway gift card for one year’s worth of car washes; Train Tickets for two nights to St. Louis; Train Tickets to Herman, MO for a one night stay. Also, Rodrock acknowledged the most seasoned agents with 40+ years in the industry, as well as the newest agent of three months.
Also during the celebration, the kick off of Rodrock’s ”First Thursdays” campaign was announced. Agents were invited to “Get On Board” The Rodrock Express by touring a Rodrock community on the First Thursday of each month to register to win outstanding prizes. The 10 communities that agents will enjoy visiting are Stonebridge Trails, Stonebridge Meadows, Stonebridge Village, Stonebridge Park, Cottages at Woodridge, Forest View, Grayson Place, Grey Oaks, Greens of Chapel Creek and Southwick on the Lake.
Rodrock announced news regarding their newest communities. Sundance Ridge in Overland Park which will begin construction in 2016. Darol Rodrock described the area for Sundance Ridge as, “The most beautiful piece of ground that I have purchased. It has rolling terrain, rock ledges and is heavily wooded which is very uncommon in Overland Park.” Sundance Ridge will consist of 800 home sites featuring miles of trails, treehouses and campgrounds for kids, multiple pools, a spectacular clubhouse, greenhouse and much more.
Also, Arbor Woods and Arbor Lake will see home construction beginning late this spring. Although it wasn’t officially announced, a new Rodrock community of approximately 200 home sites will be built at 183rd and Quivira.
