My father was a structural engineer, and for 50-years ran his firm, R.W. MacDermott and Associates. in St. Louis, MO. I was an art student, and became a trained frame and finish carpenter. For some 25-years I operated my building and remodeling business in St. Louis, called Mac Building. For the last 10-years, I have been designing and building new custom homes exclusively, first in St. Louis (West County and St. Charles), and now in Kansas City (Lee’s Summit).
