BLUE SPRINGS, Missouri. (Oct. 13, 2014) –
The winner of this year’s St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway in Blue Springs is
The single-family home is estimated to be valued at $525,000. Built by Summit Custom Homes, the 4,000-square-foot home is located in The Shores at Chapman Farms and features 6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, 1.5-story plan with finished lower level that includes recreational room and designer wet-bar.
7,500 tickets were sold for the 2014 Kansas City St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, raising $750,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year’s home was built at zero cost, and because all of the materials and labor were donated by generous trade partners and sponsors, 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales went to the kids at St. Jude.
For the past 23 years, St. Jude has given away more than 340 houses and raised more than $270 million through the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaign, the largest single-event fundraiser for the hospital. It’s because of programs like this that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.
“We feel really privileged to build the Dream Home for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” Fred Delibero, President of Summit Custom Homes, said. “In the last three years we were able to gather our trade partners and business associates together in order to build the home at zero cost. That means all of the labor and materials for the home were donated. As a net result, we are able to donate one hundred percent of the proceeds to the hospital.”
Those who reserved a ticket to win the dream home or attended the open house could enter to win additional prizes. For a complete list of winners and prizes, call 1-800-385-9756 or visit dreamhome.org.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs made at the hospital, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Summit Custom Homes is the largest new home builder in the Kansas City area. The award-winning company actively supports numerous local community organizations and has teamed up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for four years in a row. They have raised over $3.5 million to support pioneering research and patient care for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
